Ramon Allones is one of the oldest brands of Cuban cigars still produced today. It was founded in 1837 by Ramon Allones. Allones was the first to color his cigar boxes with a gold embossing.

This cigar brand was created by a Spaniard, Ramon Allones, in 1837. He is known for innovations such as the use of brightly colored labels for cigar boxes. These cigars are intended for connoisseurs who appreciate their full-bodied flavor rather than for novices.
The Ramon Allones brand also invented the 8-9-8 packaging method, based on the idea that cigars would remain rounder in the box if they were less tightly packed in this manner. Indeed, when we speak of 8-9-8 in the world of cigars, it simply refers to boxes of 25 cigars arranged in 3 layers: the first layer contains 8 cigars, the middle layer has 9 cigars, and finally, the bottom layer contains 8 cigars: 8 + 9 + 8 = 25.
A brief history of this cigar brand: In 1845, brothers Ramón and Antonio Allones registered the eponymous cigar brand. Packaged in boxes of 25 in the “8-9-8” style, a packaging method that has since become very popular, and utilizing a colored font for the first time, the extremely elegant Ramon Allones cigars are still highly appreciated.
After several changes of ownership, the factory eventually came into the hands of the Cifuentes family in 1927. The production was then moved to the factory of the Partagas brand, already owned by the family. All the vitolas of the firm share the same processes and are among the most appreciated by aficionados.
