Flavor: medium to full-bodied with a distinctive aromatic profile. Quality: superior Montecristo, created in the 1930s, was considered the most illustrious brand of Cuban cigars until the birth of Cohiba in 1968. Nevertheless, it remains the most recognized and best-selling Cuban cigar in the world.

Easily identifiable by their slightly shiny colorado claro wrappers, Montecristo cigars possess a unique flavor. Their logo is almost as well-known as their distinctive taste. The design of crossed swords and a fleur-de-lis found on this box refers to Alexandre Dumas' novel "The Count of Monte Cristo," which inspired the brand.

In 1935, Alonso Menendez acquired a cigar factory to launch Montecristo, a brand inspired by the famous count described by Alexandre Dumas. Originally, five sizes simply designated by numbers 1 to 5 made up the series. In 1937, with the acquisition of the H.Upmann factory by the family, production was relocated.

The marketing and commercial offensive by Dunhill, the exclusive distributor of the brand in the English and American markets, quickly positioned Montecristo as one of the best-known and most prestigious Habanos, appealing to both connoisseurs and the general public. In 1969, the Especiales (No. 1 and 2) expanded the range, followed two years later by formats A, B, No. 6, No. 7, and Joyitas. In 2000, the Edmundo and Petit Edmundo made their debut, joined in 2009 by Eagle, Regata, Master, and Junior.

Since then, the production of the B, No. 6, and No. 7 sizes has ceased, but the others from this range, known for being one of the richest in Cuba, continue to rise in popularity. Thus, the No. 4, which has become a classic, is one of the most popular cigars on the international scene, while the "Montecristo A," a true behemoth that lasts only after three hours of smoking, has established itself as a legend!
