Zino Davidoff was born in Russia, which he left at the age of five. In 1911, his family fled to Geneva where his father opened a tobacco shop. During travels in the 1920s to Argentina and especially to Cuba, Zino Davidoff learned the art of cultivation, drying, fermentation, various blending techniques, and tobacco tasting.

He then returned to Geneva and opened a distinct department dedicated solely to cigars. Thanks to his extensive skills and knowledge, Zino Davidoff soon became recognized throughout Europe and then worldwide. The legendary relationships Zino Davidoff maintained with Cuba lasted until 1989.

Then in 1990, he began his cigar production in the Dominican Republic. Although the tobacco blends are necessarily different, the quality of his cigars has remained among the best in the world. The Davidoff brand has expanded today to over 35 countries, and Davidoff boutiques no longer sell only cigars and pipes but also luxury perfumes and grooming products for men.

All cigars from this brand must be aged for 3 weeks and must meet strict standards. Before they can be put on sale, they must further age for between 12 and 18 months. Davidoff is the only brand that requires its retailers to commit in writing to display and store the cigars according to the rules set forth by the manufacturer.

The new line of mild cigars from Davidoff includes the Aniversario, Grand Cru, and Thousand series. The Connecticut wrapper and Dominican fillers allow for an excellent quality cigar. Four different blends are used to create the five series.

The Grand Aniversario cigars are very mild and delicate. The cigars from the Grand Cru series benefit from a wealth of aroma.
