Cohiba is the most famous cigar brand in the world. Since 1966, it has been producing cigars initially intended exclusively for Fidel Castro and marketed worldwide since 1982. To this day, the Cohiba brand remains synonymous with Cuban cigars, renowned for the quality of its cigars with unique aromas and flavors.

Created in 1966, Cohiba is the favorite brand of Fidel Castro. "Chicho," his bodyguard, smoked this excellent quality cigar made by the torcedor Eduardo River, who became El Comandante's personal roller at his factory in El Laguito. The name comes from the Taino Indians, with the word Cohiba referring to the tobacco leaves rolled into the shape of a cigar.
To craft these legendary cigars from Havana, only about ten carefully selected Vegas were authorized to supply leaves from the best plantations in Vuelto Abajo. One of its specificities lies in the triple fermentation of the tobacco, which also justifies its high price. Made entirely by hand, it is one of the premium cigars, renowned for being among the finest in the world.
Cohiba is the mythical cigar brand from Cuba created in 1968, reserved exclusively for Fidel Castro, high-ranking officials of the Communist Party, and diplomats. It was only in 1982, during the World Cup in Spain, that the brand decided to sell its cigars for the first time on the general market. The Cohiba cigar brand can now be found everywhere.
Three sizes were initially offered: Lancero, Corona Especial, and Panetela. In 1989, three additional formats enriched the "La Linea Classica": Esplendido, Exquisito, and Robusto. Then, in 1992, the "Linea 1492" was launched, featuring the famous Siglo (century) I, II, III, IV, V, and VI modules, paying homage to Christopher Columbus and commemorating the 500th anniversary of the discovery of Cuba and Havana.
In 2007, the Maduro 5 range expanded the catalog with three new formats (Genio, Magico, and Secreto), distinguished by their dark leaves that have been fermented and aged for 5 years. Finally, the Behike series (52, 54, and 56) was launched and is now considered an emblem of the brand. However, this cigar still holds the title of the world's premier cigar, a reputation well-deserved.
Only the finest tobacco leaves are used in its production, with the tobacco undergoing a longer fermentation period, allowing for the development of complex aromas. These cigars are highly sought after because they are made in small quantities by the best master cigar makers.
