These Cuban cigars bear the name of the plantation of one of the island's most talented tobacco producers, Don Alejandro Robaina, renowned for significantly contributing to the international success of Cuban cigars through the quality of his offerings. The Robaina family had been established since the mid-19th century in Cuchillas de Barbacoa in the San Luis region, one of the most fertile areas of the equally famous Vuelta Abajo valley. Each year, systematically, the majority of their harvest was selected for the production of cigars intended for export, results that earned them a legendary status.
Launched on June 6, 1997 in Madrid by Habanos SA in the presence of Don Robaina, then 78 years old, the Vegas Robaina family of cigars is available in 5 lines: Clasicos, Don Alejandro, Unicos, Familar, and Famosos. With high-quality capes, they feature the finest raw materials, which are then entirely hand-rolled by experts at the H. Upmann factory.
