Sancho Panza - the name should still resonate in the ears of literature fans, as he was the faithful companion of Don Quixote in the famous novel by Miguel de Cervantes. The Cuban cigar brand Sancho Panza was founded in the mid-19th century and still produces one of the largest cigars to this day: the "Gran Corona" vitola, the Sancho (235 mm long!!). The cigars are currently made in the Romeo y Julieta factory, with tobacco sourced from the Vuelta Abajo region.

Sancho Panza is an old cigar brand with a relatively mild yet complex flavor, almost too much for a novice smoker, but not always sufficient for an experienced aficionado. Sancho Panza cigars are therefore more suited for daytime smoking; for beginners, they offer an interesting range of initiation. These cigars are primarily sold in Spain.
In 1852, the German businessman Don Emilio Ohmsted was the first to register the brand in Havana, four years after the creation of his other famous brand, El Rey Del Mundo. Like Montecristo or Romeo y Julieta, the brand pays homage to a famous character from literature; indeed, Sancho Panza was the squire and companion of Don Quixote in the successful work of Miguel Cervantes, which has become a great classic. In the 1880s, Ramon Allones took over the factory and maintained its excellent quality as well as its labeling.
Then, in 1940, the Rey del Mundo Cigar Co acquired the brand.
